Creating a Network Planning Diagram: Men’s Trousers Production Project

Goran Cubric, Gojko Nikolic and Paula Kukuljevic

Methods of network planning are an instrument to manage and control the flow of complex inter-related activities. To project resulted in success, as an essential part of the project is outlined and described his previous careful planning while successful, cost-effective and quality management. The paper discusses the development of a network planning diagram for men’s trousers production project. The results of the work shows a sketch of men’s trousers, examination and duration of the activity in cutting room, interdependence of activities in cutting room and diagrams that are made using Critical Path Method (CPM) and display activities in the time diagram using a MS Project software package.

To the Problems of Cleaning of Hard-grades Raw Cotton

Rosulov Rk and Saphoyev AA

Questions of optimization of modes of clearing of a cotton taking into account selection grades is one of the primary goals in a cotton of the cleaning industry, especially at a choice according to plan cotton cleanings. The basic lack of cleaners of the cotton, applied now, is invariable operating modes of working bodies without initial quality indicators of cleared cotton. Relative reduction of the sizes of seeds at new selection grades of cotton that it is necessary to consider at their processing on cotton of cleaners is installed. For infringement of monotony of process of clearing of cotton it is recommended to alternate polytypic working bodies. Possibility of application of flexible technological systems which it is successfully used in various branches of mechanical engineering, and for flexible clearing of a cotton-raw of weed impurity is considered.

The Effect of Warp and Weft Variables on Fabric’s Shrinkage Ratio

Alkadi N and Karnoub A

This research deals with the fabric’s shrinkage ratio in both directions (warp and weft), by studying the effect of each of the warp and weft variables on the shrinkage ratio. These variables are the type, density, Yarn tension and the count of both warp and weft yarns in addition to the weave structure. After test different types of these variables and found that weft density relationship and weft count with shrinkage ratio toward warp is a positive relationship, while the relationship shows the amount of weave float and Yarn tension of both warp and weft thread with shrinkage ratio towards warp is an inverse relationship. The warp density and warp count with shrinkage ratio towards weft relationship is a positive relationship, while the relationship shows the amount of weave float and Yarn tension of both warp and weft thread with the shrinkage ratio towards weft is an inverse relationship. Finally, there is no effect to the type of weave as if it was a satin or twill on the proportion of fabric shrinkage in both directions. Using the SPSS statistical software solutions have been modeling the previous results and get the formula to calculate the fabric shrinkage ratio that takes into account all previous variables.

Thermal Modelling on Solar-Absorbing Metamaterial Microencapsulation of Phase Change Materials for Smart Textiles

William Tong and Alan Tong

This paper will present a novel concept to design solar-absorbing metamaterial encapsulation of phase change materials (PCM) incorporated with thermo-regulated smart textiles for coats or garments especially for outdoor wear in cold weather. The metamaterial is a periodically nanostructured metal-dielectric-metal thin film and can acquire surface plasmons to trap or absorb solar energy at subwavelength scales. This kind of metamaterial microencapsulation is not only able to take advantage of latent heat that can be stored or released from the PCM over a tunable temperature range, but also has other advantages over conventional polymer microencapsulation of PCMs, such as enhanced thermal conductivity, improved flame retardant, and extra solar power resource. The thermal modelling for this metamaterial encapsulation has been done and will provide a guideline for future design of the integrated thermos-regulated smart textiles.

Studies on the Effect of Nano Zinc Treatment on Jute Fabric

Chattopadhyay DP and Patel BH

In the present investigation in-house synthesized colloidal nano-zinc was applied on jute fabric by pad-drycure technique. The fabric samples treated with zinc nano-particles were tested for changes in absorbency, air permeability, water permeability, electrical resistivity, antibacterial activity and dye ability. These properties were compared to their untreated counterpart. The treatment with zinc nano sol improves the physical properties along with the dye ability of jute fiber with direct dye. The treatment also enhances the antimicrobial efficacy of jute fiber.
