Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a progressive condition characterized by elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, leading to right heart failure and significant morbidity and mortality. Hemolytic Anemia (HA), a group of disorders characterized by premature destruction of red blood cells, has been increasingly recognized as a potential cause or contributor to pulmonary hypertension. This mini-review explores the pathophysiological mechanisms linking hemolytic anemia to pulmonary hypertension, clinical presentations, diagnostic challenges, management strategies, and outcomes based on current literature and clinical insights.

Fundus imaging plays a critical role in diagnosing and monitoring various retinal and systemic diseases. Traditional fundus cameras are often bulky and require precise alignment for accurate imaging. This mini-review explores recent advancements in compact fundus optical systems utilizing aspheric imaging and non-coaxial illumination. We delve into the technological principles, advantages over conventional systems, clinical applications, challenges, and future prospects of these innovative imaging devices. Compact fundus optical systems integrate advanced optics, including aspheric lenses, to achieve high-resolution imaging within a reduced footprint. Aspheric lenses minimize aberrations across the entire field of view, enhancing image clarity and detail. Non-coaxial illumination, where the light source and imaging path are not aligned, improves visualization of retinal structures by reducing specular reflections and enhancing contrast.

The relationship between insulin and heart function is a critical yet complex aspect of human physiology. The heart, a metabolically demanding organ, relies heavily on insulin for energy regulation. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, is essential for glucose uptake in tissues and plays a pivotal role in metabolic homeostasis. Insulin resistance, a condition characterized by diminished cellular response to insulin, leads to various metabolic disorders, including Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD). This mini review aims to bridge the physiological aspects of insulin function with the pathological consequences of insulin resistance, highlighting the intricate connection between insulin and heart health.

Peripheral Vestibular Disorders (PVDs) and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are prevalent conditions worldwide, each posing significant health burdens independently. Recent research suggests a potential association between these two conditions, prompting investigation into their interplay in population-based studies. This review explores current literature on the relationship between PVD and DM, aiming to elucidate epidemiological findings, pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical implications, and future research directions.
