The Source of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) Measured by Pioneer V

Mahmoud E Yousif

Solar atmosphere expansion into interplanetary space was a dominant theoretical models when Pioneer-V was launched in March 1960, to determine among others the source of measured anomalous Interplanetary Magnetic Fields (IMF); lacking alternatives, the experimenters endorsed the solar-wind theory; this paper noticed loopholes in that endorsement; such as the probe’s failure to detect any increase in IMF for fifty five minutes, and a maximum horizontal magnetic field was recorded at three Earth Magnetic Observatories two hours before Pioneer-V measured maximum IMF, indicating the existence of magnetic disturbance source nearer to the Earth, contrary to the theory; these observations are hoped to give the scientific community a different angle to review many unresolved issues, that will reflects positively on the determination of type of the alternative renewable energy.

Solar Eclipses in the Outlook of the Slavs

Prokofyev A

The article provides an overview of descriptions of total solar eclipses in different literature forms, rites and toponyms of Slavs. It is shown that the solar eclipse had a prominent role in the worldview of the tribes. Explanations of some terms of Slavic outlook are given with suggestions for the correct terminology. A program for further investigation in Slavic and other people’s culture is proposed.

Exploring the High-altitude Nuclear Detonation and Magnetic Storms

Mahmoud E Yousif

The High-altitude Nuclear Detonation (HND) experiments were carried between 1958/62 by both the United States of America (USA) and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR); the Starfish HND resulted in many phenomena, it discharged great amount of beta particles and debris, releasing intense gamma radiation which ionized atoms and molecules, resulting in Compton electrons and the production of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP); the experiment also produced intense magnetic field, measured worldwide, with magnitude inversely proportional to square of the radial distance; the graph near the detonation center gave similar characteristics to the Magnetic Storms (MS); these characteristics were analyzed, whereas in both phenomenon, an External Magnetic Field-Moment (ExMFM) was produced; both the source and magnitude of the produced ExMFM were also analyzed and a mechanisms suggested for EMP production; characteristics regulating both phenomena are disclosed and elaborated from different perspectives; it is with hope that this will help in the process towards better understanding to some aspects related to the ExMF production in which if managed will be an advancement of the long awaited alternative renewable energy.

Jets in Micro-Quasar SS 433: Analysis involving Acceleration

Sanjay M Wagh and Sanjay B Sarwe

We analyze multi-wavelength observations of the jets of the micro-quasar SS 433 reported by Marshall, vis-à-vis the acceleration dependence of the Doppler Effect as reported by Wagh. Specifically, we are only interpreting the spectral shifts as arising due to the acceleration-dependent Doppler Effect and find the speed of blue-shifted jet to be ~ 0.022c and that of red-shifted jet to be ~ 0.29c. Our results have consequences for the energetics of the prime mover and jets in SS 433.
