It can arise from various underlying conditions, ranging from benign to severe, making it a topic of significant concern in the field of pulmonary medicine. This article delves into the causes, diagnosis and management of haemoptysis, shedding light on this critical medical condition. Haemoptysis is often attributed to respiratory infections, particularly bronchitis and pneumonia. In these cases, inflammation and damage to the bronchial or lung tissue can lead to the presence of blood in the sputum.
